Nottingham and Nottinghamshire NHS Lung Cancer Screening
Everyone aged between 55 – 74 years will be invited for Lung Cancer Screening, but only those eligible with a smoking history will be offered an assessment. This ensures we don’t miss anyone that may not have their GP record up to date.
Please ignore your letter if you have never smoked.
We are currently offering lung cancer screening around Beeston, Stapleford and Mansfield areas. Don't worry if this is not where you are registered with a GP practice as we are always on the move. Look out on here for updates on where we are!
Introduction
Most people will find out that their lungs are working fine. Some people may benefit from further tests or treatment either from their GP or Hospital Doctors. When it comes to lung health, spotting problems early can make a big difference.
Lung Cancer Screening will take place over the telephone but you may also be invited for a lung scan. These will be in convenient community locations so they are local and easy to get to.
Lung Cancer Screening is a multi-year programme which will be gradually introduced in stages across our community. You will receive an invitation letter in the post when your GP practice is being invited.
